Quarterly Conference Call (Nov '10)
Apparently there were a couple of hundred folks dialed in.....for those that missed it, there was some great information and discussion!
Definitely well worth listening to the recording once it is posted.
My brief topical outline of the call:
*Advisory board discussion (thanks to the original 12 & their hard work, seeking nominations through 1 Dec for 4 new members, board will be kept at 12 with 4 entering and leaving each year)
*2011 Conference -- mentioned some topics, hard work, great schedule; seeking poster presentations
*CDI Recognition week project briefly mentioned
*work by board members on the MLN item
*Discussion about ARF, how to deal with, etc...... (some very good actionable information & strategies)
Dr Kennedy ppt to be posted; Tulane shared some great work; coding clinic 2nd 2003 p 7
*Second level reviews, auditing.......at least 6 (mostly advisory board) shared their process, a lot of focus on ensuring that the documentation and coding is correct, focusing on known problem areas, etc.
*ICD10 conversation
*Patient Safety Indicators -- now core measures, will have direct factor moving forward on reimbursement, so POA is very important with these
Not sure if I missed anything -- really jam packed! could easily have gone on another 30-60 minutes....still had some Q&A time even with the amount of information discussed!
May have been one of the best to date.
