  • Hi!
We started our CDI program last year and had given out a few gift cards (Starbucks, etc) for excellent documentors. The hospital here has halted that process at this time citing the Stark Act. I was disappointed!

  • Hi Katie!
We do the same as Karen. Home baked treats go over very well. Small token gift cards for coffee are well received also.

  • Most recently, I have baked cookies and during a 3 week time period (to catch all of the hospitalists during their weekly rotation) I placed my "CDI bucket of treats" (filled with the cookies) in the hospitalist office with a "thanks for all you do" card.
I have made "thank you" goody bags (i.e. chocolates, engraved pens, candles, etc.) with a thank you card or personalized certificate for docs that are doing an outstanding job of documentation, quick attention to queries, etc.
I have also placed my "CDI bucket of treats" filled with candy & chocolate in the Resident lounge a few times.
I have hand delivered a hospitalist's favorite candy/chocolate to him/her a couple of times, along with a verbal thank you.

  • Thank you all so much for your ideas! I appreciate it :)
  • Hi there,

Is it okay if I use some of your tips in my article? I can send you a draft if you would like.

    Have a great day!

    Katy
  • Sure, but I didn't really offer any.....
When will the article re: mission statements be on the website?
    Thank you!
