Hi CDI Talkers,

As you are probably aware Dr. Robert Gold was one of our most prolific and helpful posters here in the CDI Talk forum. He was also a founding member of ACDIS and a two-time member of our Advisory Board. I also considered him a friend.

    Thank you for sharing Brian. I had no idea that he was battling cancer.
    He was a leader in this industry and a constant advocate and educator for Clinical Documentation. His voice, opinion (and even calls) will be greatly missed.

    Such Sad news. He will be missed. My thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.

    And thank you Brian for letting us know. I too have had the pleasure of personal phone calls and emails from Dr. Gold and appreciated his passion greatly. Though we are all over the country and rarely meet face to face, this is a small community and I appreciate you letting us know when something like this happens.

    Thank you for this.
    I will miss him!
    He completed our ICD 10 education about 2 years ago. I have been communicating with him almost as long as I have been involved in CDI. We have lost a strong advocate and wonderful person.

    Just reading all these posts today.  I had the privilege to work with him occasionally in various facilities for the last 13 years.  We both loved coding, documentation and medicine so much that we would talk for hours in a restaurant or hotel lobby after our "day at work" had ended.  I'm happy that he saw all the work for ICD-10 implementation come to fruition.  Missing our chats dearly.
