Coding PICC Lines inserted with Sherlock 3CG
Katy Good had started this discussion back on the old site but none of us had seen this happening. Our adult facility PICC nurses just started placing PICC lines with a device called the Sherlock 3CG...site states it eliminates need for CXR in adults and has a success rate of 99.1% of all lines ending up at the cavoatrial junction. Just curious if other facilities are using such technology and if so....how are you coding PICC's. I was wondering if there could be a departmental policy created stating the tip was in the cavo atrial junction? Probably need to submit to coding clinic.
Thanks, Any help would be greatly appreciated.
