Severe protein-calorie malnutrition in cancer patient: which is the PDX?
Patient with metastatic cancer transferred to our facility with severe protein-calorie malnutrition for J-tube placement. Had several other issues at the OSH but transferred to us for above reason. Did have work up to see if had further mets which was negative but treatment was primarily directed at the malnutrition. Would the PDX be the malnutrition or the cancer?

malnutrition. When patient is admitted for treatment of a complication of malignancy, the complication should be sequenced first (unless it is a manifestation- ex malignant pleural effusion).
