UHDDS attending provider definition
How do you handle the discharge physician/attending that does not want to address a query and requests that it is resubmitted to another physician in his same 'group'. CDI is new to this facility. We are starting to get some 'push back' from certain physician groups. We address all retro queries to the physician who wrote the discharge summary, with the exception of procedure clarifications.

Suggest you contact Credentialing and ask them for a copy of your By-Laws as these should reference a definition for the Attending MD.

HIM department actually 'should' have a firm handle and reference on the definition of Attending, too, as they perform chart analysis for chart completion.
