I am noticing more and more as a requirement for CDI specialist hire, the need for a BSN. Not sure if this is due to the hospital being Magnet Status or not. Some may be RN with a bachelors in another specialty or have a Master's in Health Information-- however, this does not seem like it's enough. Interestingly, the material and resources that are used by the RN, CDI Specialist may be written by and endorsed by RHIAs or RHITs. Just thinking out loud.
