Use of pathology report

Can you query using results from a pathology report that was done two days prior to inpatient admission or does the pathology have to be done during the current admission?  For example, patient was admitted with "pancreatic mass" with notes stating awaiting pathology results.  Pathology done two days prior to admission resulted in malignancy.  Can I use the results to query?

Yes, this is similar to using echo details from an echo done prior to admission to query for CHF type during a current stay.  However, would recommend to only query for conditions that meet reportable criteria for the current admission.
