Querying in Meditech

Hello,

I am trying to connect with any CDI specialists that use Meditech as their EMR.  Our organization is transitioning to Meditech 6.16 and I am curious as to how the query process looks for you and your providers.

    Our facility has Meditech. CDI/Coders use software ezDI. Everything flows back and forth from Meditech to ezDI. Our queries  flow from ez into the physician sign in que  once we click submit...under the name physician clarification in a draft form. They respond to query and sign.

    Hi...I've been on Meditech for 2 years.  There is a function that allows querying, but it is labor-intensive for the MD's. I have never had CDS software.  I am in a rural hospital (non critical access, though), so I attend huddle every morning and do mostly verbal queries.  i also do written ones for the surgeons who are unpredictable as to when they will hit the floor to see patients.   
    Thankfully, we are switching to epic in 9 months.

    Our EMR is Meditech. We use Task/Messaging to send our queries. We have build templates in Meditech and we copy/paste our information from the whiteboard in 3M-360.

    Vickie,

    Are your queries permanent parts of the record?  We looked at that way but admin wanted the queries in the same sign queue as the rest of their major reports such as the progress notes, H&P, etc.  When they get that pop up on sign in that says "you have documents that need to be signed", our queries are there and are located under the "reports" tab.  We also have our templates build into the system.

    Can you also reach out to me or post your contact info so I can review your process with you?  We are just in the beginning stages of this and I want to ensure our query process is built into our processes as we make this functional for our department.
