NICU- RDS and Respiratory Failure of newborn
HI everyone. I have a coding question on RDS and Respiratory failure of newborn. I understand there is an exclude note that state you cannot code both. So, when MD documents respiratory failure 2/2 to RDS what do you code? RDS or Respiratory failure? The baby is getting HHNC and O2 high flow, and definitely being treated for respiratory failure... help!
