Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

Patient with history of intermittent paroxysmal atrial fib is admitted on day 8 of atrial fib for tikosyn load.  Dofetilide is prescribed 2xs per day on discharge.  Since definition of paroxysmal atrial fib is spontaneous conversion within 7 days, does it make sense to query for the type of atrial fib?  Thank you.  Valerie
