Children's hospitals CDI program
Good morning. How many CDI specialists are here from children's
hospitals on this site? I am setting up a program for the children's
hospital I work for; the hospital has had adult CDI for 3 years and now
the hospital wants to expand it to the children's section. Any tips on
getting started? Does anyone use a template for physician documentation
(ie a paper form with diagnoses related to N/V or Fever that is put in
chart for physician to circle applicable diagnoses) to help with
capturing diagnoses for SOI and coding? If so, would you mind sending me
an example by email (chutchinson@saintfrancis.com) ? Looking for options
to help with physician documentation that benefits both the physicians,
the patients and CDI/coding. Don't want to take more time away from
bedside so if I can create a template to make documentation easier then
that would take care of "two birds with one stone". Thank you!
