Pay scale for certifications?

Does anyone have a pay scale for their CDIs
based on whether they carry the CCDS or not?
I am considering this. Not sure how much of an
increase to implement. Appreciate thoughts

  • According to your area. Speaking about California:
    CCDS only: $38-$43 /hr
    CCDS-CCS: $45-$50 /hr
CCDS-CCS with more than 2-year experience and more work responsibilities: above $50 and promote for a supervisory or manager position.

If you don't encourage your staff to love what they are doing and their work became a routine, you kill their talents.
But if you raise and grow up their talents (especially CDIs), they can be the hospital leaders, leading medical staff meetings, case management...........
If they find their job paying for itself, they will be creative and will educate your physicians in a better way.
  • Our facility allows only a 50 cent hourly increase with a limit of 2 certifications which is only $1 total.  We are sadly way underpaid according to the ACDIS annual salary survey.

  • We offer no additional pay for CCDS (or CCS).  I think we should, but we don’t.

  • We give a raise of $1.25 an hour for certifications up to 2.
  • We have no monetary compensation for certifications that I am aware of.
  • Does anyone have a job requirement of certification within 2 years of hire?

  • We have a requirement after 2 years and a 5% salary increase for the Certification.

  • Currently we receive a 2.5% increase in salary for our CCDS, but no additional for any further certifications.
