Anyone use for  CDI ?
Is it beneficial for increasing productivity and efficiency?

  • Sometimes somewhat useful and can help spot and code chronic conditions, such as COPd, HTN, CKD.   Do have to vet the codes assigned as NLP may, as on example, read a note that states..”patient ruled out for NSTEMI” and will assign a code for the NSTEMI.   The NLP we use scans notes and assigns codes based on presence of key words and can’t discern potential versus ruled out.    Also have to ensure NLP assigns the proper principal diagnosis and that all conditions assigned meet UHDDS definition for reportable condition.
