How do you code suspected Shaken baby syndrome?

Shaken baby syndrome defaults to confirmed child abuse BUT the shaken baby is only a suspected diagnosis.

I am told that we can only code suspected child abuse. The guidelines on this confuse me.

    You could code the suspected child abuse...that's about as good as it gets plus any associated injuries. I think the shaken infant syndrome code is meant to be confirmed for data collection also.
