malnutrition as an existing condition treated with tpn...admitted for unrelated dx
Do you code the severe malnutrition as a secondary dx if it's not an acute issue requiring workup? TPN is adequate, clinical indicators for severe malnutrition are not an issue for this visit for an unrelated issue....although TPN is given as a continuation of outpatient orders.
