Total Knee Replacements as IP versus OP

Hi,

My director is asking what role the CDS has in deciding on IP versus OP for total joints since they have been removed from the inpatient only list. My CDS group currently are not involved in the decision making on status, that falls to the case manager. We don't review total joints unless they stay over 3 days since there is not a lot of opportunity there. Any thoughts or experiences?
