GCS taken from EMT
There is some disagreement in our facility on if a GCS score can be taken from an EMT if they assess the patient outside of the hospital. Sometimes our only valid GCS is the one at the scene. After that, the patient may have sedation or paralytics on board if they are intubated en route to the hospital. Do you allow scores from EMT's prior to reaching the hospital? TIA, Rhonda
