Testing a new CDI hire in training

Does anyone have a tool they can recommend to test a CDI who has been in training?  I'd like to objectively evaluate her training progress before we get too far into the training process.  There are basic concepts that I do not think she is understanding.  An objective testing tool would be helpful.
