S/P CAR-T cell therapy monitoring
I am struggling with the correct coding to accurately portray patients who are being admitted s/p CAR-T infusions for neurotoxicity monitoring.
They are being admitted for durations of several days to up to 2 weeks. IF the CAR-T infusion, which is given in clinic, is bundled then the DRG goes to auto stem cell transplant. If not the only pr dx I have found has been fever which is obviously not portraying the entire clinical picture. Most are not neutropenic so the pr dx does not even go to NF.
CAR-T is a fairly new procedure for us and I did discuss this with our attending in malignant hematology and he feels that pr dx of fever is not accurate.
How are other institutions coding this?
