type 2 myocardial injury
Can someone please give me some information on how they are handling documentation of "type 2 myocardial injury" by physicians. I have tried educating, querying but they continue to document it as type 2 myocardial injury. Is anyone else having this issue and if so how are you handling? Providers are getting frustrated when they are queried on this matter and I am not having much luck explaining to them. I have been instructed by coding that when documented as myocardial injury that it will code to traumatic injury, I am not sure on this matter. I have been told that querying would be necessary in order to get providers to document whether or not was type 2 myocardial infarction or demand ischemia. Any help would be appreciated.
