Denial for unspecified obesity on obstetric chart

We recently received a denial on an obstetric chart to remove the E66.9 unspecified obesity code. They are stating that O99.214 is sufficient. They are referencing AHA Coding Clinic 1Q 2017 p. 25. Which instructs that if the specific type of asthma is documented, assign an additional code for the asthma. If, however, the type of asthma is not further specified, do not assign code J45.909, unspecified asthma, uncomplicated separately. "Unspecified" asthma is not a type.

This is a first for this kind of a denial. Any suggestions on how to defend this one?
