Specialized CDI reviews
Our department is proposing expansion of our reviewers. Does anyone have any experience with having CDI's specialized in certain fields reviewing those cases. Such as trauma, cardiology, neurology etc? We do not do unit assignments at this time. We have 16 facilities in my organization. Thank you in advance

I'm still new to CDI but I would think this would be a difficult sell as patients have multiple issues when they are admitted. I would be afraid of being too focused on the specialty and potentially missing opportunities that don't fall under that particular specialty.
