Post-bill queries to confirm a diagnosis - without rebilling
What are everyone's thoughts on reviewing a record that has been requested by an ADR, and issuing queries to confirm diagnoses? The point would not be to rebill but rather to support a diagnosis on chart that was not previously reviewed by a CDI, that is now at risk for a denial. With the obvious caveat that if a query came back removing or changing a diagnosis that a rebill would be required.
It seems to me that if we can query to rebill, the above process should also be acceptable?
