Q&A Re-billing an account after a late query response
Our organization is trying to determine if there is updated guidance on how late a query can be posted for a discharged patient. The Q&A: Re-billing an account after a late query response article references 60 days. Is there updated guidance on the timeframe for retro query post discharge since this publication?
Thank you.

I can state the CMS permits re-billing of inpatient accounts up to 60 days after the date of original payment. At least, this was the case the last time I checked at the CMS website a few years ago. It probably depends upon the payer?
