When to use N178, other acute kidney failure
Would N178 be used for AKI due to hepatorenal syndrome, hypotension, prerenal, etc.?
Seems odd to say AKI, unspecified when the Provider documents further specificity.
The index says AKI, unspecified (N179) but when you go to tabular it lists options such as
With Necrosis-cortical medullary or tubular and also "other specified". Some coders code only N179 ( unspecified code) even when further specificity is documented.
