Venous blood gases

I would like to know if there are any institutions using venous blood gases? Do you use them to support queries when appropriate for Acute Respiratory Failure? We have not used them at our hospital, usually when they are done instead of Arterial it is basically N/A. But I understand there are hospitals that are using them.

    We do not routinely use them, but if it is on a pediatric patient I would think we could use it to support our query.

    At our institution they are used for the SvO2 calculation.
