CC and MCC on OB accounts
Hi, I need some advice from anyone that works with OB accounts. We have a patient that came in for premature rupture of membranes. On her prenatal office notes and H&P mitral valve prolapse is documented. She delivered with out issue and went home within normal time frame. The coder picked up the MVP which added a single MCC. I don't feel that it qualifies as a secondary diagnosis. We did not do any additional tests, give any medication, or extra monitoring. Should it be coded?
