RE: re:CDI Presentation Post Op Complications

One potentially significant thing -- use of the term post-op in a temporal meaning without intending to imply any relationship -- many physicians use the phrase simply for a time relationship, not a causative one. That can raise problems for coding. Need to both query if it is at all unclear about a causative relationship, and have very clinically astute CDS / coding professionals that can determine the likelihood for relationship.
