Team Lead positions?


For those teams with a team lead position, at what point did you institute a team lead? How did you justify the need - was it based on staff/management ratio or other? I currently am the Supervisor over 2 hospitals with a total of 14 full time CDI Specialist with 3 PRN staff. Feeling like my team could benefit from a Lead/Educator/Auditor especially as census continues to rise.



  • We instituted Educator and Lead/Second Level Reviewer positions as our hospital had identified organizational goals and our staff needed auditing and education from a higher proficient staff with dedicated roles. Start by having someone do it as a pilot and track the projected impact. Org buy in is necessary and proving outcomes will help get you there!
