skin tear accidental puncture/laceration during a procedure.
Can you help. Our surgeon documented a skin tear/laceration that occurred while an operative patient was being turned in the OR. The surgeon did note that the skin tear was repaired. My quality department does not think this qualifies as a preventable complication or should be coded as such. The coder has assigned L7212 based on the providers documentation and the repair. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
