Pregnancy complication
Pt had an appendectomy at 23 weeks and the trocar punctured her uterus. (thankfully not the amniotic sac). At 38 weeks she presented for a c-section due to the injury to her uterus. Physician writes: uterine injury due to trocar puncture..... I am thinking the PDX should be a complication code. Having trouble finding the appropriate PDX.
The coder used O3429 Maternal care due to uterine scar from other previous surgery. Unsure this is the appropriate code.
Any advice would be appreciated.
