Post operative blood loss anemia

Seeking input on need for acute?

My understanding was if a provider stated postoperative blood loss anemia there wasn't a need to query.

There is an older coding clinic 2004 or 2007 stating if you have postoperative anemia you need to query. I thought this was due to "blood loss" not being stated.

Per Index, if you start with Anemia, go to postoperative, then blood loss, (ACUTE) is in parenthesis, and is a non-essential modifier.

I guess it's always a good idea if there is confusion, but it had not been required in my past. Thanks for the input!
