DNR as a treatment for mortality

Hello,

My team does mortality and PSI/HAC reviews. We have been getting a lot of push back from physicians for using the DNR as a treatment. What are your thoughts on using DNR as one of the treatments for mortality reviews? For example, a query was sent for comatose with all the appropriate clinical indicators. Treatment was listed as DNR and ICU monitoring, as the family did not want any more treatment. Is DNR an appropriate treatment?
