Querying for Precipitous Drop in Hgb/Hct inpatient

Does anyone query for precipitous drop in Hgb/Hct on the inpatient side when there is at least a 2gm drop or more in Hgb with no explanation of why? The EBL does not support asking for ABLA and no other explanation of why it would drop so much. If so, do you have specific guidelines to support asking this question?
