eOP-40 and STEMI's
Question:
· On the new CMS STEMI measure eOP-40, we are having some fallouts due to lack of denominator exclusions for timing on evolving STEMI’s in the ED, or if they were diagnosed after ED
· The measure requires strict door-to-cath-lab, admission to the inpatient unit, or thrombolytic timing for STEMIs, irrespective of when the STEMI is diagnosed in the ED.
· And based on coding guidelines of principal diagnosis selection, the condition after study would be the STEMI irrespective of when the STEMI is diagnosed in the ED.
How are your hospitals dealing with this?
