CDI for E&M process

edited May 2016 in CDI Talk Archive
Would like to hear if anyone actively functions in a CDI role focusing on E&M billing (reviewing, querying, etc.) -- either exclusively devoted, or as part of there mix of CDI responsibilities.

I am not specifically asking about education or conversations about the cross link between 'traditional' CDI activities and physician services.

I know that JA Thomas includes (on their information sheets that can be generated from their software with a broad selection of different clinical/documentation/coding topics) some additional information for the practicing physician on E&M coding and billing, but this is in the nature more of a 'freebie' 'fyi', not provided or focused on a specific case under review and query.

So, is anyone doing this?
Aware of any other resources, information, tools?

Thanks,
Don

Our hospital is also looking into any functions that CDI does out of the Emergency room as far as E&M coding, reviewing for documentation opportunities or querying the ER providers. thanks
