Coding Clinic First Q. 2011 Page 4, Dissection of artery during PCI

Our coding liason recently became aware of this coding clinic and we are planning to work with our interventional cardiologists to develop guidelines as to "clinical significance". Wondering if anyone out there has already been through this process and if so, what advice you may have to offer. Thank you!

    I haven't been through any process, but I had a case involving this CC last week. The cardiologist documented the dissection several times as a complication, but she also stated it was non-flow limiting and didn't do any specific intervention for it. After studying the CC, I was not sure which way it should go, but the coders took the dissection code.
