Say hello to another new CCDS!

Talk about setting oneself up for stress, then having that stress be relieved! I took the CCDS test this morning while in Tampa. I was already in Tampa for my PhD program, so I thought.. why not add another stressor!

The test was not easy... there were several questions that I scratched my head on. You take your DRG expert in with you and while no notes that can be removed are allowed, you can hand write notes all over/in it ahead of time. You are not allowed to take any notes during the test by writing them in your books, you must use the scratch paper given to you.

I passed with a comfortable margin, but this was the most difficult test since taking my NCLEX!

If you have applied "stickers" that display charts for CKD, malnutrition, etc. and typed other important information onto stickets that provide information I use on a regular basis and have it placed on the "notes" section in the back of the DRG expert--will this be permitted for the testing? Will I have to tear this out of my DRG expert? Should I call someone?

I hate to have to buy a new book. I don't hand write many notes, Typing is neater and cleaner and the stickers actually make the pages less flimsy. I do make hand note in the disease specific area.

Does anyone know it stickers applied will be ok?

If you take a book with stickers into the test, the stickers will be removed by the proctor.

You are allowed handwritten notes in the book.

You can remove your stickers and save them to put back in the book after testing.

Wow, taking the stickers off the page will tear the pages up. Maybe I can use someone elses book, I hate to have to wreck my nice, neat hard work.

I also had many things pasted into my book. I waited until a new book came out, carefully wrote in it, then took the test. Now my book is back full of typed notes pasted into it.

I jsut recently applied for the exam. I could wait for the new book-- I'll think on this. Is there a time frame post application to scheduling to take the exam?
