CCS advise please

This question goes out to all the CCS members out there. Has anyone taken Coding courses only in order to sit for this certification. If so, can you tell me where you found the courses. All of the coding curriculums we have found are all inculsive instruction. We have Medical term., Anaotomy/Physiology; etc. from our Nursing instruction and do necessarily wish to repeat all of that if we don't have to. Is there a fast tract instruction available out there?

Would it be best to wait on the courses that will include ICD-10 CM and PCS?

I was planning on taking the Basic Coding Courses. When I called and spoke with the HIM director at my local community college, she told me they will waive the A&P, pharmacology, medical terminology for sure. She was going to speak with the director of the RN program and see what else we might be able to waive. She felt like there was no reason I should have to repeat those medical courses that were covered in the RN program. Hope this helps:)
