sepsis
We are in the middle of a sepsis audit to determine if SIRS criteria are present on medical records which have a final drg of 871-872. About 10-15% (study is not completed) of the charts do not have 2 SIRS criteria present which is the guideline that our hospital has recommended. All of the patients have infections but if SIRS criteria are not present can the RACS deny these claims? Has anyone had experience with this??
