Atrial Fibrillation

I have been pondering why Atrial Fibrillation with RVR is not considered a CC. Every week there are patients that develop this arrhythmia that results in an increased use of resources (ie: telemetry monitoring, IV gtts) and extended length of stays. Is there something I am missing from a documentation standpoint that I need to be querying my physician's for in order to capture these resources?

Thank you for any input!

Back in the old days, A fib WAS a CC. It was made a non-cc probably since "everyone" seemed to have it.
