MS-DRGs and ICD-10
There are no plans to change the MS-DRG system as it exists once ICD-10 is implemented.
There is a great presentation on the CMS website on this topic:
https://www.cms.gov/ICD9ProviderDiagnosticCodes/downloads/ICD-10_MS-DRG_Conversion_Project_Slides.pdf (copy and paste into your browser).
There will be a few diagnosis shifts into other MS-DRGs due to the new code set, but the number is expected to be very small, with the overall DRG shift miniscule.
The above web page also contains several documents related to the mapping of codes from ICD-9 to ICD-10 along with MS-DRG assignments.
I hope this information is helpful.
