Re:AIHCD-Association for Integrity in HealthcareDocumentation
Thanks to all who have responded. Being able to perform at the highest level possible is absolutely what is critical. However, in today's very competitive environment there is a great deal of credence and emphasis placed on credentials. Those are most certainly not a gaurantee of ability. But let's not kid ourselves. Employers do take those in to consideration when looking to hire or promote. The differences identified between AHIMA, ACDIS vs AIHCD regarding requirements to be met, while quite valid are not likely to be well understood by senior leadership who generally are not as well versed in the nuances of qualifications in this profession in particular. But they do tend to look at letters after one's name. Maybe not best practice but real.
