Healthgrades

Hi y'all,

I know this was discussed previously but I am unsure.

Is the 285.1 considered a complication in Healthgrades?

We have patients that have expected blood loss and recieve PRBC's after surgery to bring up the H/H for discharge.

Thanks

Originally it was, but is no longer, I am informed.

Is there anything else I can do for you?

No it is not considered a complication. There was an article recently on CDI Strategies addressing this issue - Dr. Haik I do believe was the publisher.

Now if the words "post op" appear with it or if it in any way is "linked" to the operation it will be considered a complication
