RAC
I am going into a huddle with our RAC coordinator and physician advisor regarding "acute blood loss anemia" in 2 cases which were clearly documented. The RAC is arguing that even though it was treated, it is "expected" and therefore should not be coded. WHAT????? Since when do they get to change the rules? This is very frustrating indeed. Are others experiencing similar RAC denials for acute blood loss anemia?
