Considering 3M built the APR-DRG system, they are probably a good place to start.

This is also a good source of understanding (it helped me quite a bit when I started CDI)

Since you are at an academic medical center, there is an excellent chance that your organization is part of University Healthsystems Consortium. They are an outstanding resource & have a lot of info, models, data analysis........including mortality. You can play a long time in their data base, write and run reports, etc. There is a lot you can do with your own data that is submitted, as well as a pretty good amount that can be done benchmarking against the 120 or so university medical centers in the database. They just finished a series of 6 webcasts specifically on mortality modeling. Members should be able to replay those.

    https://www.uhc.edu/

Find this in their member list:
    Nevada
University Medical Center of Southern Nevada

Should be able to contact them on their website and discover how you can get access as well as find out who at your organization is currently experienced at working with the database, website, resources, etc.
