Electronic software system

Hello to all... We are currently investigating electronic query and tracking systems for our CDI program. I am would like to ask a question to the CDI's that currently are using the 3M electronic software system... Does this system have the capability to send the query electronically to a physician and also recieve the response back electronically to become a part of the medical record? If so, what is your experience with that?
Thank you,

3M does not have that capability. It will only allow you to produce the
query as a word document. Then you could send to the physician email.
But it won't go in to your HER.

We are investigating other vendors currently and will be having a
demonstration done by ChartWise soon. Thanks Carla.

  • We use CDIS and it doesn't have that capability that I'm aware of. We generate the query for retro-queries, and then save it to the K drive as a rich text file. HI imports the RTF document into ChartMaxx and sends it via a fax process in that scanning software to the MD office along with a blank progress note and instructions how to provide the documentation. We currently have a hybrid record, but are implementing CERNER in June. We are having an overview of that software today to see how it works and might impact our processes. This will be the first demo we've been including in, and will hopefully relieve some of the stress we're feeling about exclusion from the build process to date.
