CDIS Boot Camp

I am already approved for CDIS exam. I have the CDIS study guide and have done a lot of "self teaching" otherwise. How do you feel Boot Camp would increase my chance at passing? Money "is" an object for me.
Also, is On-Line Boot Camp as effective as On-Site?
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you are saying your initial training was self taught, you may find a boot camp helpful in that you have a professional to guide you through each systems particular nuances. I will say that the certification exam does not stress the clinical part of being a CDI. There is much more related to metrics and IPPS, history of the DRG system. GOOD LUCK!!!

  • I can only state I attended the Boot Camp and I found it was very
worthwhile. I went to the 5 day seminar in person, so I can't speak to
the on-line course. I think the Boot Camp is a very effective way to
provide a fast oversight about 'coding and compliance to an RN w/o
    any/much coding experience.

If $ can be provided by my employer, I would love to take an Advanced
    Boot Camp.

I did the online course and it was very helpful. I had been "doing" CDI for over a year and it really helped me reconcile what I thought I knew with the facts. It was an affirmation for me and it helped me clarify many of the questions/concerns I had from everyday practice.
I still refer to the materials when I have questions and I do feel better about moving forward with the exam.
    It is a great investment!
    Good Luck!

I was lucky enough to have my hospital pay for this for me. I am not
sure about increasing your passing rate for the CDIS exam but it is good
stuff! I did mine online. It is quite extensive and worth the money.
A lot of it I had to do at home.

I highly recommend the bootcamp! I had my staff complete the online
version before taking the exam .... all are certified!
    Good luck!
    Thank You,
