metrics for MD contract negotiations
WE have a hospitalists' group that is employed by the hospital. As part of theri employment contract, they have an overall response rate expectation of 95%. That metric includes both agree and disagree, meaning an answer is expected.
I agree with Sharon that we have issues with failure to carry diagnoses forward. It happens that Medicine Section met this morning and most of the attendees are the hospitalists. We did have one inteventional cardiologist attend today. We discussed this very issue and the impact it had on the final coding of the secord, since most of our discrepancies involve failure to carry resolved diagnoses through to the DCS. I think we made some headway, but our group is very engaged and want to do the right thing.
